Unless you spend all of your time traveling in your RV, your RV will likely be sitting in storage somewhere. So it’s important to follow the following steps to help protect your RV tires when you’re storing and not using your vehicle:
Important Tips on the proper way to store an RV to preserve your tires.
1) Keep the vehicle in a protected area that is climate controlled or cool and dry and out of direct sunlight and UV Rays
2) Put the vehicle up on blocks to remove the weight from the tires if you can. If you can’t do that make sure it’s on a firm surface free of water and in an area that is level and has proper drainage in the event that it get’s wet.
3) try to unload the vehicle so the vehicle is putting the least amount of weight on the tires
4) Inflate the tire 25% over recommended operation pressure, but don’t go over the rim manufacturer’s inflation capacity.
5) Make sure you clean the tires before you store the vehicle.
6) Try to move the vehicle every three months or so to help stop ozone cracking and flat-spotting. Try not to move it in extremely cold weather.
7) Check the tire pressure and adjust accordingly before you put the vehicle back on the road in use.
